DAMIEL / MOENCH by Miles Schleifer, 2018

In „Der Himmel über Berlin“ Damiel presents an interesting paradox, being omniscient and transcendent, though wanting nothing more than being human with all their failings and mortality. This of course seems less paradox if taken into consideration that transcendent beings like god or an angel are creations in man’s image. This series evolved around the thought of a human becoming omniscient and transcendent, but ultimately realizing he is missing the essence of his own nature.

Feeling the heaviness of being alone in his transcendent existence, floating in an abyss of purposelessness he wanders through the night.
